Water brings things back to life. That is if there is a living root . . .
Timothy pretty much worked and lived at the firehouse in town. Polishing equipment, keeping machinery running was all part of the job. Every year Tim had the huge responsibility in town and that was organizing the Independence Day parade. People came from all over the County either to participate or become part of the celebration. And, there was also that apple and peach pie bake-off to raise much needed funds for the station house. Rows of Cadettes hurled their rifles into the air like jugglers in a circus. Batons twirled to the beat of the music. Timothy’s team won first place ribbon last year for the best hand made float. Parents immediately lined the streets with children waving and embracing the American flag. Little heads popped up above the crowd as parents perched children onto shoulders to capture that perfect view. And, this is how the tattered American Flag ended up on the side of the road.
